Guild Wars 2 is still amazing but currently my computer is in a bad state right now and I can hardly even access an internet browser without my computer sounding like it's going to commit suicide.

Star Wars: Battlefront quick review of the beta -Dorwulf

Hello,

I have played the beta in it's entirety, unlocked everything there was in the beta, and played it as much as possible during my busy life and has come to a "beta quick review" conclusion.

The only way I know how to do this would be a pros and cons method.

Pros:
-Promotes a fun, fluid gameplay where switching between 1st and 3rd person is there to fit your own playstyle and you are NOT locked into a certain way of playing.
-overall gamemodes are simple yet enjoyable where teamwork is highly focused on the objectives and random "team deathmatches" aren't the priority.
-The partner system is a sound design to bring in new players and to help them out by "lending" them your own unlocked "cards" (Usable on the battlefield to activate items; i.e. grenades, jetpacks, etc..)
-Very authentic sound design where it feels Star Wars without it being overly Star Wars, if you get what I mean.
-The graphics are the most beautiful that I have ever seen in a videogame.
-Vehicles are powerful as they should be, but vulnerable to "ion" shots and grenades. (used against vehicles for extra damage)

Cons:
-Walker Assault on Hoth is a very one-sided match where the Imperials have a major advantage compared to the Rebel Alliance. However, I have won many games as the Rebels, but it is still a major issue.
-The survival felt rather boring and uninspired, and felt tacked on just to be used as an excuse to not include a campaign mode.
- Gamemodes are simple, which IS a pro but it is also a con.
-Teamwork between more than one friends are hard to do because of the Partner System.
-Cycler Rifle cooldown is quite short and is a very powerful and potent weapon. I would rather see it raised from a 7 second cooldown to 11-14 seconds to balance out it's power.

**I did not use the Heroes enough times to get a proper verdict down on them.**

These are my pros and cons of the beta and my own thoughts of what are good and what are bad. I do hope the final game will implement many changes that will address some of my Cons and produce a very enjoyable experience.

STAR WARS BATTLEFRONT IS AMAZING AS F---- -Popkinkajou

Above is a gameplay clip from when I wrecked a bunch of Rebel scum as they spawned in. (IT IS A BETA SO THIS ISN'T THE FINAL GAME)

I wasn't too interested in Battlefront, but the other blogger on this site, Dorwulf, was constantly hyped for it and said that "Battlefront 2 was amazing and I can't wait for a reboot" And lo and behold, the reboot is closing in on us.

AND WHAT FUN IT IS!

I never realized that I desperately wanted a game like this. The shooting WILL take some time to get used to (bullets don't insta-travel. They're lasers) And with only 2 multiplayer maps and 1 half-survival mode, I am already too hyped for the game.

I decided to cancel my Black Ops 3 preorder and I have since switched my preorder to Star Wars Battlefront. I believe everyone else should too.

There's a sense of Old school to the game with there being no Aim Down sights. And a CHOICE between first person and Third person. And Well well well!!!! THEY BOTH WORK.

If you can't tell I'm too hyped and I am still going to kick ass in the Beta. Can't wait for the game's launch November 17th.

My Guild Wars 2 journey update -Popkinkajou

Hello,

Unfortunately I'm still a level 20 Charr Warrior. I put him into PVP trying out all of the skills and stuff throughout the week that I completely forgot to level him up.. Oops.

I set a challenge with a guildmate/teammate named Keigo in a race to see who can reach max level first and whoever does the loser owes them something.

From what I can tell he is still a level 18 Human Ranger so I still have the lead on him! Good good.

While talking about the ranger, let's go over some details about them!

Ranger. Before the buff they where kind of weak after the buff there single target DPS is massive. If you can find the enemy driver and burn him down you can make a zerg a lot weaker as they scramble to get him op. They are over all a good solid class, but i have not had a lot of time with them so i can not say a lot more about them.

Their pets are so OP when it comes to auto-targeting in PvP that you'll never avoid that mother f****ing pet of theirs...

Plus their ELITE specialization is the Druid, all about healing.

I feel like that elite specialization will be amazing in the new RAID coming in Heart of Thorns.

And so it begins... -Dorwulf

The Star Wars Battlefront BETA is now open for EVERYONE to try!!!!

Click HERE to follow my TWITCH

You don't want to miss this beta. If you can't play it for some reason, fret not! I'll be streaming it and will answer all questions regarding the game.

As many people have already seen, people have been getting into Early Access for the BETA. Unfortunately, I couldn't. However, that did not stop me from learning all the nitpicky details about the game.

From the battlefront page:

Listed below are some great pointers on how to gain an edge playing the Drop Zone and Walker Assault game modes. Study them well and be a master of the battlefront.

Walker Assault on Hoth

Stay on the Move. It’s a Big Map:
Outpost Beta is large, and avoiding blaster fire from AT-ATs can be challenging. Unlocking and equipping the Thermal Detonator allows you to clear areas and open paths, making it easier to find an escape route when it’s most critical.
Know Where You’re Needed Most: Controlling the sky is important, but keep your boots in the snow unless there are other starships in the airspace. Protecting or attacking the uplinks can be the difference between winning and losing the battle.
Maximize Your Damage against the Enemy Objective: The most useful items against vehicles are the ion-enhanced weapons, such as the Ion Shot and the Ion Grenade. The Ion Shot charges your weapon with ion bolts for a limited amount of time, allowing you to deal extra damage to AT-ATs and other vehicles.
Sneaky Rebels: As a Rebel, just as there are only a few seconds left before AT-ATs can make it to the first or second checkpoint, use the outpost inside the mountain to get close to the walkers. This prevents you from suffering the wrath of their Orbital Strike or heavy blasters. AT-ATs can only be attacked after being bombarded by your team’s Y-wings, so keeping your distance until then is the safest and most useful tactic.
Imperial Might: As an Imperial, keep pushing forward until you have secured either uplink. Once an uplink is secured, push a little farther to set up a defense and minimize the enemy’s chances of activating the uplink. The Squad Shield power card is very helpful when you are setting up a perimeter.

Drop Zone on Sullust

Three-Dimensional Protection: The Sulphur Fields are quite open, leaving plenty of opportunities for the enemy to gain the elevated advantage while your team is attempting to capture the drop pods. Defend yourself from vertical foes with a Squad Shield, or by dropping Proximity Bombs where you might be most vulnerable.
Spread Out: During the capture phase, spread out, but don’t let the pod out of your sight. Avoid staying too close to the pod while it’s being captured; it only takes a single Thermal Grenade or Thermal Imploder to take out an entire defending squad.

Advanced Warfare is dead to me -Popkinkajou

So I've been thinking... Should I play Advanced Warfare again? And my body just instantaneously says no.

I guess a Call of Duty game really only has a 1 year lifespan. Except this time I'm not even interested in Black Ops 3..

I believe Call of Duty is an amazing franchise. But some years you just have to skip out on. I think this year it's the year for Star Wars Battlefront.

NOT TO SAY THAT I DIDN'T HAVE FUN IN ADVANCED WARFARE

As stated in a previous blog post, I really enjoyed the game.

I had a blast sniping. Even if I'm mediocre at sniping.

I had my greatest match ever as well. (Same map. I guess I'm good at this map)

BUT I have no desire to go back. For now, it's all about Guild Wars 2 (I cannot stream it because my computer is pretty cheap and flakey)

Charr Warrior Adventures -Popkinkajou

Hello,

First things first: I did not get rid of my Engineer. Kink Jou still exists in the realm of PvP. I simply wanted a different character to use for PvE. And here comes... ROKTHAR THE GREAT!

The Charr are fearsome cat-like beasts who live and breathe for war.

While they are ruthless, relentless terrors to their enemies, charr are also brave allies who can form unbreakable bonds of loyalty.

Centuries of endless war have molded charr society into the most advanced militaristic and industrial race in Tyria. Their culture is dominated by the High Legions, which are in turn composed of smaller warbands of charr who live and fight together. Every charr—from the fiercest legionnaire to the humblest farmer—sees themself as a soldier.

Although the charr once again control their ancestral homeland of Ascalon, their grip is not as tight as they would like. Centuries ago, the last human king of Ascalon summoned the Foefire, a magic cataclysm that turned his people into vengeful ghosts who to this day wage a ghostly insurgency against the charr. Meanwhile, the Flame Legion, a faction of sorcerous charr outcasts who worship false gods, wage a civil war against the other three High Legions, seeking to regain their former dominance.

Yet the greatest and most immediate danger has been brought by the Elder Dragon Kralkatorrik. Once freed from its deep tomb, the dragon flew south, its mere presence scouring and transforming the land beneath it. That blasted landscape serves as a battleground for the dragon minions’ continual war with the charr.

THAT'S the Charr.

The Three Legions are Blood Legion, Iron Legion, and Ash Legion.

Blood Legion is the frontline assault. The Soldiers of the war. MY legion. Ruthless, brave, and never surrendering, Blood Legion is unstoppable.

Iron Legion deals with the weaponry and the machines of war. Smart, tactical, and endearing, they are needed for their machines of war.

Ash Legions are the sneaking masters. Cunning, quiet, and out of sight, they will get you at any corner of the world if you don't pay attention.

My Charr is as of this post.. a level 20 going through the Plains of Ashford attempting to complete the map. The Warrior class does well for fast killing in the world and utilizes many weapons compared to my Engineer. I like him. He's a big furry cat of death.
